Brief Answer:
Eustachian tube dysfunction possible

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

I must say I am a little puzzled about the midodrin you've been prescribed as it's not a commonly used drug for headache, it is used mainly for a condition called orthostatic hypotension. So unless is a brand present only in US unknown to me (and to google as well) I wouldn't expect it to help.

Coming to your symptoms, that description of pressure feeling, ear popping, lightheadedness indicates an issue related to the eustachian tubes. Eustachian tubes are conduits which connect our throat with the middle ear in order to maintain equal pressure on both sides of the eardrum. Their dysfunction can cause the above mentioned popping sound and ear and head fullness.

Most commonly happens after a cold or ear infection. Can be helped through decongestants, antihistaminics and at times steroids. Over the counter painkillers like Ibuprofen can be taken for the pain. If persistent an ENT consult (ear-nose-throat) may be considered.

I remain at your disposal for other questions.
