Brief Answer:
Oral muscle relaxants will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.

The pain in the leg after a back surgery can be due to piriformis muscle spasm causing nerve compression. This will improve with rest, oral muscle relaxants and medicines like Gabapentin or Pregabalin.

Avoid the painful movements right now. Physiotherapy at the time of acute pain is not helpful. After the pain subsides then you can start with exercises to stretch the spasmodic muscles. Doing a hot compress will also provide a temporary relief by relaxing the muscles.

I hope this answers your query.
