Question : My husband (almost 70) has had leg cramps for almost a week odd and on, usually when lying down.
He recently had the "crud" that is going around and our doctor (Nothing can be done). It is a cough and respiratory involvement/chest congestion. today he awoke (5am) with both cramps and a "sinus infection". the latter may be due to rotten upper teeth which he is about to have removed. I have given him echinachea tea and Ibuprofen, and he is now soaking in our hot tub with epsom salts.
What else can I do, since it is Saturday? XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Juicy fruits, steam inhalation and hot compress suggested.

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I understand your concerns. Most often leg cramps are due to deficiency of potassium, a mineral required for proper muscle contractions. Juicy fruits like citrus fruits contain plenty of potassium and so your husband should take them. Also, hot compress and stretch exercises (google out for the technique) should provide relief.
Ask him to take steam inhalation. Water in form of vapor will help in diluting the cough and would provide relief.
