Suggest Treatment For Leg Pain Caused After An Injury

Question: Hi,

I fell down the stairs about 2 weeks back and hurt my left lower back. Went to a doc and he gave me multivitamins and an MR for 5 days. Those 5 days were fine. But as soon as the dosage ended, my left leg hurts . My hip is fine and the pain starts from my thigh to my foot. The lower back will probably take some time to heal. But this pain in my leg is becoming constant and has started to interfere with my daily life. Pleas suggest what will work. Patience, Medicines or rest?

Brief Answer:
MRI scan needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain that you are having is likely to be due to a soft tissue injury or a local swelling in the spine area. The pain in the leg is a nerve related pain. A mild injury to the spine is likely that can be detected only after an MRI scan of the spine.
It is best to take an absolute bed rest and get an MRI scan of the spine done for further evaluation. Continue taking a muscle relaxant calcium and Vitamin B 12 supplements till then and use a brace for support to your spine after consulting an orthopedician.
I hope this answers your query.
