Question : I have pain in buttocks and legs. Difficulty walking and maintaining balance. 4 or 5 times a week I fall down and/or can't get up from the floor (i.e. after cleaning floor). Last Saturday I became dizzy, lost my balance, fell to the floor and was unconscious for about a minute. That same Saturday I fell 4 times during the day. I went to my PCP on Tuesday and explained what has been happening and her response was basically that I should be more careful and offered no reason for this happening to me.

Brief Answer:
Neurological examination and imaging studies are necessary.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

In my opinion, regarding to your symptoms, two conditions need to be addressed:

1. lumbar spine stenosis

2. normal pressure hydrocephalus

It is necessary to get evaluated first by a Neurologist and, imaging studies such brain and lumbar spine MRI could be necessary to achieve a correct diagnosis, or to exclude above mentioned conditions.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
