Question : I have Lichen Planus-diagnosed by a biopsy at a Dermatologist--I know this will take a long time to resolve -I also know it can be caused by stress-I have currently b een on two topical medications-clobetasol 0.05 % and Trimcinolone 0.1%-sometimes it appears to be getting better for a few hours then really bothers me-itches about every 3rd day-can't take cortisone-have these lesions front and back of both legs-was from ankles to knees now has spread to both thighs and arms-i have scars from this-have tried oatmeal bathes-I'm stressed over other problems-now am depressed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have gone through your complaints and understand your concern.
Lichen planus is a chronic immune mediated disease which will take time to resolve.
I would recommend you to continue with clobetasol propionate cream but diluted in a moisturising lotion containing white soft paraffin in the ratio of 1:3 twice daily.
For itching take tablet cetrizine 10 mg once daily at bedtime.
If your disease is progressing consult your doctor and take other medicines apart from steroids like ciclosporin, dapsone or azathioprine.
