Question: I get light headed when I stop from fast moving ( like Pickle ball or stand up quickly from a bent over posture). My blood pressure is normally very low, like 110 / 60. I'm 69. Very active and no illnesses or even meds of any sort. Weight 105 lbs.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Your symptoms seem to be related to orthostatic intolerance ( orthostatic hypotension ).

For this reason, I would recommend performing a head up tilt test, in order to rule out /in this possible disorder.

I would also recommend performing some blood lab tests ( complete blood count for anemia, thyroid hormones level for possible dysfunction and blood electrolytes ).

If all the above tests result normal, I would advise consulting with an ENT specialist and perform labyrinthine tests to investigate for a possible inner ear disorder.

Meanwhile I would recommend increasing salt and caffeine intake and avoid abrupt standing up or prolonged standing up position.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.

Hope to have been helpful!

Dr. Iliri
