Question : Hi ive just been referred to a specialist for a second time with a limpoma on my right ankle. It is extremely painful & has nearly trebled in size in the last few year's. It also has a mole that needs to be checked. The swelling is causing more pain & is effecting my mobility now & the fat/fluid
is travelling down onto my foot too. is this cause for concern???

Brief Answer:
Will require assessment by your Surgeon

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

The cause of your symptoms is likely to be due to location of swelling , presence over the ankle joint resulting in restricted mobility. Pain is sometimes occasionally seen in Lipoma and is due to fat necrosis or sometimes due to presence of nerve component ( Neuro-Lipoma ).
I would also not be worried about trebling in size over last few years ( its still slow growing ) and likely to be benign.

Exact assessment of spread whether in foot is only possible by thorough clinical examination. Would suggest you to consult your Surgeon for the same. I would also recommend its Surgical excision, in view of presence of symptoms .

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
