Suggest Treatment For Localized Headaches And Seizures

Detailed evaluation is needed for depression
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM
You are a young male with no significant history. You developed one episode of seizure about one and half months ago. You didn't have good sleep prior to seizure episode. After that you have started having symptoms of depression. Localised pains in head, pressure in head etc are other symptoms. You have abnormal tastes in mouth.
First of all I would like to know if you lost consciousness during the episode of seizure. If you had abnormal movements of whole body of the movements were localised to on place. If you got any injury due to fall because of seizure. Generalised seizures are usually associated with loss of consciousness. Sleep deprivation cause lowering of seizure threshold and this can precipitate seizure. Even single episode of seizure need proper evaluation. I would advise you to consult a good doctor and get your EEG done to find out any seizure focus in brain. MR-Scan is done to rule out any lesion in brain.
The seizure episode is causing development of symptoms like headache, heaviness in head. These symptoms might be occurring due to somatic symptoms of depression. Mild depression can present with these symptoms. I would advise you to consult a neuropsychiatrist for expert opinion.
Follow following precautions for seizures-
- Don't remain awake till late in night. Sleep at time and don't deprive yourself from sleep.
- Avoid any activating substance like nicotine or even excess coffee. Also avoid alcohol.
- Avoid looking at bright lights or glittering things in night. This can also lower seizure threshold. Avoid very loud sounds.
- Take your meals at time keep doing your normal studies regularly.
Thanks, hope this helps you, if you have more questions you can ask again.

Generalised seizure
Detailed Answer:
Hello again
You lost the consciousness and the onset was sudden with history of fall. You had convulsions of whole body. Most likely it was Generalised Tonic Clonic Seizure (GTCS). The cold and tingling after episode was most likely due to post ictal complications.
These are associated with loss of consciousness and involve generalised area. Even a single episode need evaluation. Though some doctors don't prescribe medicines (anti epileptic drugs) on single episode still I would advise to consult you doctor for treatment.
Anti-epileptic drugs are common used in treatment. Medicines like Sodium Valproate, Carbamazepine, Oxcarbamazepine etc are commonly used drugs. These are broad spectrum drugs and are devoid of serious side effect.
In established cases who are fit for therapy treatment is given for about 3 years to prevent further recurrence. As you had one episode only as per my opinion there is need for evaluation but there is very less need for medicines.
Thanks, You can ask again if you have more doubts.
