Please give details and post actual photographs if possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Male/89 - infection at both ankles for 2 years - right cleared up - left one is ferocious red - weeps slightly - looses skin every day - Zincofax has little effect - Umerol/Uremol 20 -

Please give more details:
- Please post clear and focused photographs so that it help for on-the-spot diagnosis.
- Do you have Varicose veins?
- Any history of diabetes or any other medical disease?
- Any investigations done? Please post reports.

From the short history without any details and photographs seem to be due to either dermatitis or varicose ulcers.
If this is due to varicose ulcers, varicose veins need active treatment.
Elevation of the leg above heart level to remove the excess fluid which hampers the healing.
Supplements of multivitamins helps recover the integrity of the skin and tissues.
Antibiotics if there is infection.
Correction of any deficiencies and diseases.

This way alone the healing is possible.
You may need an opinion of a General Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination , investigations and active treatment.

I hope this answer helps you.
Please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
Please give feedback and post photos.
