Visited er two days ago and they pushed fluids, breathing treatment, administration of zofran. As of tonight still difficult to eat or drink. Everything has awful taste. Have lost 20 lbs in one week. Slight head congestion, tightness in chest with some wheezing. No fever

Not uncommon with illness. Try preferred food, liquid preferably in small quantities.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am so sorry to hear you lack appetite and the difficulty eating. Loss of appetite is not uncommon when we are sick. During illness, we have to somewhat be more conscious and eat because we really want to have energy and get well soon as opposed to when we are healthy and eat because we love the taste. This becomes a conscious decision. It is always best to think of what you love most as it might be easier eating that than any other. If this is not possible, try liquid meals with lots of energy and vitamins. You may also take vitamins supplements such as vitamin B complex tablets to help with this. If at the end of all these you cannot eat, you may have to return to the hospital for fluid and glucose administration which should only be considered as a last option.

Let me know how you are doing. I wish you well and a speedy recovery.
