Brief Answer:
You should.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HealthcareMagic.

Memory loss can be a manifestation of brain issues, classically of dementia. May also be in the setting of other brain issues such as stroke, seizures etc. Metabolic or hormonal alterations, nutritional deficiencies may also manifest with memory issues. So yes, it can be a worrying symptom.

On the other hand at times it may not be a case of true memory loss but may be a case of anxiety or depression issues which affect concentration and may so mimic memory loss.

So the issue is not as simple as it seems. If you could have provided some more details it might have been useful. There are different types of memory loss and different possible causes. The first step in evaluation is a neurological physical exam for other possible neurological signs and neuropsychological tests (sort of questionnaires testing memory and other areas of cognition). Based on findings it is decided whether further tests are needed.
