Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that a blood pressure value of 99/52 mmHg is not considered a big concern, unless you are actually clinically symptomatic (tiredness, vertigo, lightheadedness, etc.).

This latter clinical situation may be present if your usual BP values are much higher than your actual reading.

Nevertheless, in the case you are experiencing unpleasant symptoms I mentioned above, I would suggest to have some rest in a cool quiet place, taking plenty of fresh drinks (unalcoholic), a coffee and some bed rest.

Otherwise, if that BP value persists and become worst (lower values) coupled with obvious symptomatology (despite the above mentioned measures), I would advise asking medical assistance to the nearest ER service at your living area.

In such case further clinical investigation to find the right cause of hypotension is necessary.

Some lab tests would be helpful in this regard:

- complete blood count,
- PCR & ESR,
- blood electrolytes level,
- BUN & creatinine,
- fasting blood glucose,
- thyroid hormones level,
- cardiac ultrasound

Also intravenous fluid challenge could be beneficial at preventing a possible dehydration.

From the other hand, if your slightly lowered BP values return to your normal usual values with only rest and plenty of orally taken fluids and you are clinically asymptomatic, you just have to monitor your ongoing BP values and wait for your attending doctor appointment.

Hope to have been helpful to you!

In case of any further uncertainties, feel free to ask me again.

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
