Question: Hi,
I got my blood test done. My vitamin D is 13 ng/ml which is significantly less. Should I start taking supplements. Please suggest the best supplement.
I am 27 years, and off late gaining lot of weight instead of not eating much and exercising. Is this the reason for weight gain?

Brief Answer:
yes, you should take the supplement

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

I have seen the uploaded report.

Yes, your Vitamin D level is low or deficient. You should take Vitamin D supplement.

I usually prescribe my patients Capsule or XXXXXXX Mashyne 60000 IU weekly for 12 to 16 weeks. There are several other brands of Vitamin D supplement available. You can request your doctor to prescribe any one of those.

Secondly, your weight gain is not because of Vitamin D deficiency. It could be due to other causes such as Hypothyroidism, or mismatch in your calorie- exercise regimen. Please re-look at the same.

Take care and Regards,
