Brief Answer:
You need not panic

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through the details provided. The first thing that I would suggest you is not to panic. The first thing that I would like to ask you is what health problems do you specifically have? I am not talking about reports, I am talking about the complaints like fever or cough with which one presents to a doctor. We do not treat reports, we treat patients. I understand that the WBC count is low and that the blood sugar levels are high. But unless you have symptoms, you have no reason to panic and to tear the world apart with tests one can name.

Diabetes is a condition that is linked to lifestyle although it has genetic linkages as well. It does not mean that somebody in your family has to be a known diabetic. It means that if you have the propensity, you might get more easily than others. In case of such a high HbA1c level, it means that you need to get it under desperate control. Diabetes can cause damage to internal organs without your knowledge and when you actually come to know, it might be too late. Diabetes is also known to depress the immunity and it is possible that it has linkages to lowering of the WBC count.

I would suggest you to relax. Life will present different things to you but it is upon you how you react back. Be in routine follow up with a diabetologist and take medicines regularly. I would prefer taking insulin in such a condition. Do not bother about the reports of other blood tests unless you have any symptoms.

Hope that helps.

I really appreciate your response and you are right as rain, i'm in a panic. I have no symptoms even with the sugar..... no symptoms.
They didn't even know I had it until a blood test.
Once on insulin though it is hard to get off. I would like to reverse it. Do you have any thoughts?

Brief Answer:
Insulin doses are essential.I am unaware of how to stimulate its production

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.

There is perhaps something wrong with your impression about taking insulin. Insulin is a hormone that is produced normally in our body. When it is deficient or when there is some problem with its functioning, diabetes results. So, in such a situation, substituting for the deficient insulin is the best solution in this regard. By controlling the dietary intake you can perhaps lower its requirement but the requirement would still be there. It is hard to reverse it which can be done by stimulating the pancreas to stimulate production of more insulin naturally. But if I assume that you can find a way to do so, the insulin requirement will automatically come down and insulin dose can be reduced. But unless it can be done, I strongly insist that you take insulin on regular basis. You have never thought of getting off taking your lunch or dinner, right? You have not thought of it because your body requires it. Similarly your body requires insulin and unless substituted, your other organs will suffer serious damage. I do not think that you would want that.

Hope that I have been able to explain you.
