Question : my aunt has an oxygen level of 87 to 93 when taking deep breaths. she is very tired and seems to be slurring her speech. i can hardly understand her because she keeps falling asleep while sitting in the wheelchair. we have given her breathing treatments with albuterol. she refuses to go to the hospital. her heart rate ios 70. what can we do.

I have reviewed this information fully. Your aunt has difficulties getting enough oxygen into the system. She needs to be on supplemental oxygen. If she has one at home, we may need to increase the flow rate of her oxygen. If she doesn't, she needs to be evaluated.

In all, she needs oxygen supplementation. Getting her to the hospital for evaluation is helpful. If this is not possible, consider increasing her oxygen flow rate at home.

Oxygen is a medical prescription. The volume needed to be administered, duration and the accessories to get it connected are all medical supplies. If her oxygen saturation remains low, sh truly needs to be seen at the hospital for evaluation and treatment.
