Brief Answer:
Considerations.

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

After reviewing the laboratory values and imaging report finding that you have provided it does not appear that there is any particularly worrisome findings.

There is mild anemia which can be evaluated with additional laboratory studies including iron studies. If you have not had a colonoscopy or endoscopy in the last few yearsit might be reasonable to consider doing so as part of the work up for anemia.

Most likely be a domino discomfort was not due to the finding on the CT scan.

Thanks again for submitting your question.

I have been referred to a Hem/Onc following are series of tests, endoscopy, upper Gi, and CT scan. Had colonoscopy in Oct 2011 that was normal. All tests have been normal except hemo count. In addition to low hemo, my RBC's are slightly low (4.09). Ferritin is normal, but UIBC is high (353) and iron saturation is low (14). On November 7th, I had a one-time episode of blood in my vomit. My internist believes I had some type of bleed of unknown origin. Three fecal samples have all been free of blood. I don't understand what the Hem/Onc will be looking for. Any guidance?

Detailed Answer:
The hematologist oncologist will be interpreting both your blood count as well as the imaging findings.

You have a very mild anemia. The hematologist will most likely recommend interval check of blood count in three or four months. I do not necessarily think any expense of work up needs to be done otherwise.

Regarding the imaging finding this might also be followed with another imaging study in about six months or so. I suspect the imaging finding does not represent a pathologic problem but your doctor will need to discuss this withyou at your follow-up appointment.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
