Suggest Treatment For Low Hemoglobin Levels In A Blood Test Report

Question: As per my latest blood report my hb% looks very low. I am surprised because only 10 months back it was 14 and in the meantime I dont have any history of blood loss. My hdl cholesterol also not raising . I was earlier prescribed to take Statin 10 mg but later on a local doctor asked me to stop for few months and see the progress . I use to walk almost 1 hour daily (more or less regularly). I am very regular in medicine. As regards diet , I avoid sweets .

Yes your Hemoglobin is low and this required evaluation of the cause.
I would recommend you following:
1. Iron studies.
2. Vitamin B12 levels.
3. Stool for occult blood.
These tests would help us determine if there is iron deficiency or Vitamin B12 deficiency.
Also it would help us to recognize if there is any gastric ulcers causing bleeding and occult loss of blood.
Now your thyroid profile is also deranged and you have hypothyroidism and that is the reason why your lipid profile is deranged.
You would need to be started on Thyroxine to control hypothyroidism.
Also you need Vitamin D supplement for the purpose.

Good evening Doctor. I would also like to inform you that of late I have been suffering hotness on the back of my ears and shoulders and sometimes something like tickling/biting in the head. It's very problematic because it generally happens in the pick office hours and I use to go to washroom , put some cold water and get some relief. Please advise me
