Question: I wake up @ 8: 30 am, I am not a real happy person until an hour after waking up, My husband is a 6 am. an very happy, and loves mornings, he feels that if I wake up with a positive attitude I would be able to adjust my personality to be joyful, we are both retired, I'm 68 & he is 76, I have read articles on early bird/night owls,

What you describe is simply related to temperament. That is, your biology is such that it takes a little while after you wake up to really get the day started feeling good. There is nothing wrong with this -- it is simply natural genetic variation. Rather than attempt to try to change this, which won't work, I would simply accept that this is how you function, and you and your husband can both appreciate each other's differences.
