Question : What can happen iF your sodium levels are low and red blood cells are enlarged?
Brief Answer:
Depends on the degree of abnormality and the undelying cause
Detailed Answer:
Dear Mrs,
It depends highly on the degree of abnormality and the underlying cause.
Mild enlarged red blood cells are not dangerous and can have no clinical significance.
If slightly decreased sodium levels are related to poor diet or recent diarea it is not dangerous and can be corrected with diet, otherwise investigations are needed to find out the cause and often hospitalization is needed. In case of severe decreased sodium levels the cells of our organism can be damaged.
Hope I could help you
