Question : my sodium level is 115 and i am 80 yers old .Doctor has suggested tolvat15 mg .please suggest medicine is enough or external Iv should be given
Brief Answer:
Extra added salt
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health care magic.
I have gone through your query. The sodium level is quite low and needs to be substituted systematically. The first step would be to give extra salt (2-3g salt added to water) given twice daily for the next few days. Your doctor would be able to confirm if that would suffice or whether a calculated amount of hypertonic saline needs to be administered intravenously. Any other medicine would not help.
