Question: I am on androgel 1.62%. Took a seman test that said I am not making sperm. Is there anything I can do to get my body to produce my testosterone naturally and get my sperm back flowing?

Brief Answer:
low testosterone

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to see that you have low testosterone levels and taking androgel. Despite this your sperm counts are still low. I would recommend that you have your testosterone levels redrawn after being on the androgel. It is possible your body is not absorbing the testosterone and you are still low. If your levels are still low then you may need to consider weekly injections of testosterone. If your testosterone levels are OK then there is not much else that can be done to improve your sperm count. There are no natural supplements or treatments to boast your levels.

In summary
1. recheck testosterone levels
2. If low switch to injectable testosterone
3. If normal then no additional therapy possible

If I stop taking the androgel , would my body try to make it's own testosterone and start producing sperm?
My sperm count was normal until I started taking the androgel

Brief Answer:
low testosterone

Detailed Answer:
The mean reason you are taking androgel is because you have low T. If you stop your testosterone levels will return to the levels prior to treatment. There is not way to naturally boost your own testosterone levels.

My levels where not two low in the first place. Me and my wife are trying to have a baby. I got her pregnant twice last year before I started taking the gel. If I stop, will my sperm production come back

Brief Answer:
unknown

Detailed Answer:
I really can't predict if your sperm counts will return to normal. Since you were able to get your wife pregnant last year despite low T levels you could possibly be able to get her pregnant again off the androgel. you have nothing to loss by stopping and see what happens. I can't tell you though if your sperm counts will rise.
