I have now had a transvaginal ultrasound and an abdominal ultrasound. It appears I have some small ovarian cysts. We will be doing a CT with contrast on Wednesday to confirm and expect to take hormones or estrogen as medicine. In the meantime, I have already just had a CA125 blood test done which came back negative. Is it reasonable to assume that the cysts will not likely be cancerous based on that? Also, I am in quite a bit more pain now than I was prior to the exam today. Is that likely due to the instrument they inserted for the transvaginal ultrasound? There was quite a bit of probing going on, and I imagine that is what's causing the discomfort. Just confirming. Thank you, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
cyst is not cancerous and ultrasound never causes pain

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Ovarian cysts are benign and easily treated by medicines. CA125 showing negative so just normal cysts.
Pain may be due to rupture of cyst or hard examinations or something else.
Ultrasound never causes pain.
No need to worry.
Just start medicines for cysts and they will resolve soon.
