Brief Answer:
Go for stool test.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for asking query on HCM.
Have gone through your details and i appreciate your concerns.
Most cases of black stools are from eating black foods or iron supplements. However the most common condition causing black stools is a bleeding ulcer. Black stools caused by blood indicate a problem in the upper digestive tract. Blood in the stool can be detected through a stool test.So firstly we have to be sure whether blood is there in stool or change in color is due to food habits etc.Foods that are dark blue, black or green may also cause black stools. Substances that are often found to cause black stools include Black licorice. Blueberries.
A stool test for occult blood should be done to rule out blood in stool.

Problem 2-Benign prostatic hyperplasia is probably a normal part of the aging process in men, caused by changes in hormone balance and in cell growth
Chief symptoms are-
Trouble getting a urine stream started and completely stopped,Often feeling like you need to urinate with a weak urine stream often accompnied by a sense that your bladder is not completely empty after you urinate.Alpha blockers like tamsulosin would be used
Digital rectal examination would be done by your doctor.

Thanks!
