Question: Hi-

Question is I have low back pain MRI is clean, BUT have Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI) in both hips. I am getting excruciating sharp pains all the way from my anus to the labia. Heat/Ice are not helping, it hurts to even sit, and I feel constantly like I need to have a BM. What should I do?

Brief Answer:
You need to see an orthopedician without delay.Pain killers should help.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

In case of Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI), initial treatment is with NSAIDs or pain killers like ibuprofen or naproxen. If that does not help, injections of steroids into the affected region might help. If that does not help, it might be essential to undergo orthoscopic or open surgery depending upon the gravity of the situation.

As you see, the treatment is sequential based on response to earlier treatment. You can try ibuprofen / excedrin which are available over the counter. But if these doesn't help, you need to consult an orthopedic surgeon and get yourself assessed without delay. He would be able to suggest the next steps of treatment.
