Question : I have a degenerative disc in my lower back and can't get in to back specialist until the 21st. I'm in a lot of pain and ibuprofen doesn't seem to help. Can you suggest something else that might help? Do I need to see a general practitioner to get something that will work? It's very hard for me to get around. Laying on my back is the most comfortable but I don't want to do that until the 21st. Thank you!
Brief Answer:
Take treatment as advised and visit a neurologist
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Low back pain at this age could be due to nerve compression.
Mri spine is required to assess the true condition.
For pain you can take etoricoxib, Aceclofenac with muscle relaxant.
Local pain reliever ointment can be used.
Nerve modulator like pregabalin or amitryptiline or gabapentin can also be used.
Physiotherapy should be done under guidance.
Avoid stooping forward, lifting heavy objects, squatting.
Visit and examination by a neurologist is required.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
