Brief Answer:
NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Hope this message finds you in good health.

Thank you for posting the question.

The symptoms that you have mentioned are more indicative of an early lumbar disc prolapse. Posterior disc bulges that occur in this condition often tend to compress the spinal nerves in that region causing pain. The pain often tends to increase with coughing in these cases.

Any old injury, fall or lifting of heavy weight associated with sudden catch / cramp in the lower back area, often triggers disc prolapse.

I suggest you should get an X ray and an MRI of the lumbar spine done to confirm the diagnosis.

Taking anti-inflammatory analgesics like Ibuprofen and paracetamol will help reduce the pain temporarily. Wearing a lumbar belt and local analgesic gel / spray application will help.

Do let me know the MRI and X ray reports so that i can guide you further.

I hope this answer was helpful.

Kind regards.
