Question: I have lyme disease which has affected my entire nervous system. I have numbness in my entire body and i have motor and extremes sensory loss. My heart rate is 90-100 beats per minute. i am out of breath and i have high blood pressure as well. I have tried multiply medications to lower my blood pressure and It has caused my sensory loss to increase and it does not reverse itself. I am permanantly more numb. Is there something I can take for my heart and not affect my nervous system. I just recently tried atenolol and it made me worse.

Brief Answer:
You can take olmesartan or telmisartan.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms and it is unfortunate to note that in addition to Lyme's disease, you also have heart disease and high blood pressure.

For lowering your blood pressure, you may take olmesartan or telmisartan.

If high rate remains a problem, you can take metoprolol tablets.

Neurological symptoms would improve on own over time.

I hope it helps.

Best wishes,
