Suggest Treatment For Lump In The Left Hand

default
Posted on Fri, 30 Sep 2016
Question: Hi I have found a lump on my left hand side next to my chest. It does not really hurt should I ignore it as I have lots of cysts. It is not red or bleeding - I have just discovered it. Did have skin cancer a few months ago but was cut out. It seems long and thin and is almost as wide as a finger. It is Friday night no one to see till Monday.

Brief Answer:
please upload a picture of it..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Welcome back,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern..

Can you please upload/ attach a few snapshots of the lump so that I can take a closer look at it ?

You can simply upload it at the reports section, alternatively you can e-Mail it to YYYY@YYYY and keep the Subject as ATTN:DR XXXXXXX and I'll receive them..

Also please let me know it's consistency, is it soft/semi-hard/rubbery/hard ?
When your pressing it, is it moving underneath or fixed ?
Is there any itching associated ?

Looking forward to hear back from you with these details, so that I can guide you more specifically..

Awaiting..

Take Care
Kind Regards

The lump is above my finger in the photo. It is semi hard, it is not itchy and it does not move. It is painful and making me feel like jelly. I had an abscess in this position that was cleared up by antibiotics recently. Am I just panicking. Do I need to see my GP.

Please tell me what the item is called.

Thanks XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
follow-up consultation..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Welcome back,
Thanks for following up with the necessary details, yes I've reviewed the image,

I can appreciate some redness over that area, along with those description of yours i.e. painful, semi-hard and in the background of the recent abscess, it's most likely the residual capsule of that abscess or a lymph node which is most likely infected again..

So yes, please visit your GP as you may need another course of antibiotic (Co-Amoxyclav or Cephalosporin groups) to clear it off..it's nothing too serious so please don't panic, but necessary to get treated after a clinical examination of that area..

In view of recurrence of cysts and abscess, I'd also like to get your blood sugar assessment done if not done already (FBS, PPBS, HBA1C, Urine R.M), please discuss this with your GP..

Let me know how you stay in the due course..

Take Care
Kind Regards
