                                            Question : What is the space between the scrotum and the anus called? I can feel internally a movable lump about the
size of a pecan. it has gotten smaller over the last week.

This area is called perineum. Lump in this area can be caused by an abscess. If so, some pain can appear as well. And abscess can after some time become smaller. Especially if it is evacuated (it may happen through the rectum, than you should notice whitish substance in the stool or on the underwear).
