Suggest Treatment For Lump Near Pectoralis

default
Posted on Sat, 23 Jan 2016
Question: Hi there, I'm a 38 yr old male. About a week ago I noticed a lump of sorts on my chest under where my pectoralis should be. I'm overweight, so I basically it's under - for lack of a better term - my man boob. It wasn't tender and there was no pain. Now however it has become discolored (like a bruise) and tends to cause pain if I move my shoulder or raise my arm.

Brief Answer:
?Boil around chest nipple

Detailed Answer:
Hi Dear, Thanks for your query to HCM.
Read and reviewed your query facts in context to your health concerns about the under nipple painless lump, becoming painful with shoulder or arm movements.
Based on the facts of your query,You seem to have folliculitis in the last week with a lump? or bump.
Over the last week the infection in this lump under the nipple grew and is causing discoloration and pain, only when your shoulder moves. This is due to cellulitis caused from infection of the hairfollicle around the nipple and around your chest.
As such it seems now to be a Boil from the folliculitis of the last week with painless lump a week back.
Don't worry as it is non cancerous lump.
Treatment Suggested-
As the lump is now clinically confirmed as -infective Boil of the hair follicle around the nipple,
Take a 5 day course of Antibiotics and anti-inflammatory from your GP doctor and this would resolve in 5 days time.
If still worried, check up with Surgeon, who would test your blood sugar to rule out diabetes and would treat it accordingly by surgical drainage in his opd.

Hope this would help you to plan treatment from your doctor there.
