Question : My 6 month old son has a lump on the back of his head near his neck. What could this be?
Brief Answer:
It would be a lymph node swelling.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX It would most likely be a lymph node swelling. But it would be better to have it shown to your Doctor or GP. Since when is the swelling and is there any associated fever or cough. It is common for small children to develop swelling of lymph nodes in neck and on back of head. So do not worry it will be fine and will resolve over a few weeks. But I feel you should see the Doctor to know whether the child would require some anti inflammatory medicines or antibiotics for the condition. Take care.
