Question : Recently diagnosed with HSV1 genital herpes. However I have one lump on my vulva. It isn't changing, blistering, not red, not itchy etc. I had a swab done and the result was as above.
My question is I don't have any other symptoms and it is now unchanged for 5 days. I Know this is the worst possible thing to do but i sterilised a needle and made a hole and nothing came out?
Could I have been misdiagnosed?

Thanks for your query at HCM.

The condition you described is usually due to infections such as herpes and syphilis can cause lumps. If diagnosis shows so then it is possibly herpes in resolving phase. I would suggest you to maintain hygiene and not to tamper with lesion. There is no cure but it will take time. You can apply topical antiviral agents, topical anaesthetic and analgesics. Apply hot compress.Use a latex condom when you have oral, genital, and anal sex.
