Brief Answer:
Could be lymph node enlargement but provide picture of the bump.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,

I have read your query and understand the concern.

From the facts you have posted here,I would first think about the possibility of lymph node enlargement due to infection.

However, the clinical examination of the bump or lump would confirm it.Please provide picture of the bump,it will be helpful.

So,I would suggest you to see some local physician who will examine it which may enable us to arrive at a certain conclusion. He may also suggest some routine blood works to rule out infection.

Meanwhile, you can take over the counter pain killer like paracetamol 500 mg or ibuprofen 400 mg twice daily.

Take antihistamine like cetrizine 10 mg if you have dry cough.

Take plenty of fluids and fruit juices if you are comfortable with it.

Oral antibiotics would also be needed but you will need prescription from the doctor.

Regards,

Dr.Sandip Kabra
