Suggest Treatment For Macular Pucker And Holes In Retina
Question: Hi , I am 44 I was told my optometrist to go see optholmogist for macular pucker and holes in retina . The neuroopthalmologist I saw says I have optic parlor slightly elevated with fluid behind my retina. Also confirmed macular pucker and retinal holes he feels are old. He gave me antiinflamatory eye drops told me to come back in three weeks. I just wonder should I be going to a Retinal specialist. I am a flight attendant and worry I need to be more assertive about this . Any thoughts ?

In my opinion you should not panic in this regard what problem you told you are having usually develop over an extended period of time they are not usually acute, neuro ophthalmologitsts are good with retinas because in the end retina is related to nervous system.
In my opinion you should keep let things procede through a proper channel. I would suggest you not to panic and visit your neuroophthalmologist on the next follow up visit in three weeks after using the medication regularly and then there you can discuss with him if he thinks you should visit a doctor specialised in retina.
Till then I would suggest you to keep using the meds and stay patient till you see the doctor again.
