Suggest Treatment For Melanoma On The Scalp

Question: Dr. Monish De: Please review biopsy report. Are there options for my 84 year old Dad to treat the melanoma on the scalp and the lymph nodes.

If so, what options would you recommend.

Surgery followed by interferon therapy

Hi

I have gone through the biopsy report

Your dad is suffering from stage III melanoma of scalp which has spread to left supraclavicular lymph node

Treatment option consist of surgical wide excision of the melanoma 2 mm in thickness in scalp along with left supraclavicuar lymph node removal by surgery

After surgery adjuvant therapy with interferon has to be given to prevent recurrence of the melanoma
