Being on Medicaid its hard to get testing doe to see if its an infection they look at me like Im a lunatic? What can I ask them to do so I can get a test for infection?
Brief Answer:
A four week antibiotic course will tackle any infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. A generalized infection such as Lyme's Disease is unikley to cause a specific neck soreness.
2. A Sinus CT should be done as your symptoms may be due to chronic sinusitis and the neck pain may be due to lymph node inflammation. Dental, Jaw and Cervical spine problems should also be ruled out.
3. Even if the lab tests for Lyme's are not done, an antibiotic course of four weeks will tackle any infection.
If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
Regards.

I do believe it could also be a swollen lymph node because be this it was under my arm pits that were doing this. What would cause this and why would it travel from my armpits to my neck? :)
Brief Answer:
Lymphatics flow in a distinct pattern.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for writing back.
1. The lymphatic drainage of the body follows a distinct pattern.
2. The lymph node drainage moves from one lymph node group to the other (lower and deeper) in the direction of the heart. Infection and inflammation also spreads in the same way along the lymph vessels and nodes.
3. The approximate area of the origin of the infection or inflammation can be traced backwards in most instances fairly accurately.
