Suggest Treatment For Migraine Headaches That Dies Down After Vomiting

default
Posted on Thu, 12 Nov 2015
Question: I am suffering from migraine headache. My father had also the same problem. I have tried multiple treatment from MD medicine as well as homeopathy doctors but didn't get any relief. I know there is no complete cure for this but even during medicine course, the frequency of migraine pain attacks kept on increasing. I generally suffer from this once a week and sometimes twice a week & after a day long pain, get relief after vomiting out & taking a nap in dark room.
Currently I am taking only VASOGRAIN as SOS drug & undergoing no other treatment. Please help me to reduce the pain.

Brief Answer:
Prophylaxis drugs and lifestyle modifications required

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
The lifestyle modifications for migraine requires timely food intake, avoiding fasting, chocolate and coffee, proper sleep and avoiding any precipitation factors recognised by patient.
All drugs have one or other side effect.
In case similar to you I prefer Flunarizine 10mg with amitryptiline 10mg if associated stress and sleep problems are present.
The drug may require a month for full effect.
For short duration of a week you can take Naxdom 500 mg twice with omeprazole once empty stomach.
Later on also you can take Naxdom 500mg sos.
Hope you found the answer helpful
You can visit your neurologist for treatment prescription and follow up.
