Question : Starting today I am occasionally getting mild pain in my right eye. It seems to come from movements like standing up but not always. I also get it when I try to focus on something close. I also notice that it is very blurry - now I have a cataract in that eye but since it is not my dominant I haven't really noticed how blurry it is lately - whether this just came on or not? I am recovering from a prostatectomy March 21 - the pathology report was good but I have not done my first PSA test.

Brief Answer:
Cataract

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for the question.
If you focus on near objects and you get the painful eye, it can be attributed to cataract. IF the vision is blurred and if you still try to accomodate the pain increases.
I attribute your problems to accommodation of the pupil and cataract.
It may be time to get under knife for cataract surgery. Your ophthalmologist can guide you better.
Cataract is done under local anesthesia and is under 5 min procedure. It would not differ even if you were recently operated on prostrate.
Hope this helps you take better decision.
