Brief Answer:
Dear friend, He needs a session of counselling

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend, Greetings from HCM.
I understand your difficulty.

First he need to get away from the trauma of Fathers loss, problems with first partner and also his work stress to cope with his economic demands. Adding to this alcohol and smoking too. For which he needs to meet a psychiatrist and get counselling and if needed treatment for coping with his mood swings. Later you check his fasting, postprondial sugar levels, lipid profile, thyroid hormone levels, HbA1c, and also microalbuminuria. After this complete work up and his consultation with psychiatrist later we can decide what to do for his sugar levels. If needed drugs or just lifestyle changes will be sufficient.

You take care of his nutrition and hydration. Give him more of green leafy vegetables, fruits and ask him to go for walk. Better you accompany him. Eat wit him. Avoid fried and processed food stuff. Fish, nuts, garlic, dry fruits, all will help. Both of you can practice yoga and pranayama, meditation. It helps gain confidence and also raise energy levels. Support him to fight for his family.

All the best and feel free to ask any more question. Or else rate the answer and close this session. THANK YOU... ALL THE BEST
