Question : I've been taking Lamictal 10 years for mood and my fingers have been peeling like crazy for the last week or so. I've been taking 150mgs for 6-9months (before that it was 175-200mgs)

-the only thing that's changed is: additional of wellbutrin xl 150 mgs; and some switching back and forth between lamictal generic brands.

I think I've been making it worse by subconsciously biting at the skin, which I haven't done before.

I don't have any other rash symptoms. I know that can be a big concern with this drug and the peeling of skin should be addressed or reported

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Consultation

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

It would be highly unlikely that this finger peeling is a sign of the concerning rash linked to Lamictal (Steven XXXXXXX Syndrome). It is more likely this is simply coincidental. It may even be that the peeling only started after you starting chewing your fingers. If you want to be extra safe, you can visit a doctor for a physical exam to check your oral mucosa for any signs of rash. But again, I find it unlikely this peeling is anything of concern.
