Suggest Treatment For Mouth Sores

Posted on Tue, 23 Sep 2014
Question: I have had mouth sores pop up in my mouth that are the size of a flat eraser head. While they are not painful, they are concerning because I have never had them. Thought about red wine I have been drinking. Possibly the acid is causing the sores. Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Traumatic ulcer, aphthous ulcer, topical analgesic

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
As far The ulcer is concerned, I have two possibilities
It could be because of aphthous stomatitis that occurs most often secondary to stress.
The other possible cause could be secondary to trauma like tooth brush injury or from food particles or burn from the acidic drinks.
If it is traumatic ulcer, you can take topical anesthetic and analgesics like XXXXXXX gel. apply 3-4 times daily before food.
If it is aphthous ulcer you can take topical anesthetic and analgesics like XXXXXXX gel. apply 3-4 times daily before food and topical steroid like triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% 4-5 times daily after food.
Do saline gargling. If the lesion does not heal in 5-7 days then consult a oral physician and get it examined.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
