Question : I have a soft, moveable lump about the size of a quarter on the top of my foot surrounded by bruising that hurts only slightly to the touch. It has been there about a week, but I don't recal how or when I injured it. What is it?

Brief Answer:
Ganglion or cyst.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and picture.
Noted your history of soft movable lump about the size of a quarter on the top of foot surrounded by bruising and mildly tender, present for about a week.
Can not recall when and how was it injured.

The possibilities are:
A ganglion or
Mildly infected cyst that has got enlarged or
A boil.
These are the possibilities since the history is of short duration.

I hope this answers your query, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
