Brief Answer:
Meniscus tear, Electrolyte imbalance

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Thanks for the query.

I have read your query and understood your problem.

Do you have chronic pain in your knees ?

Have you ever sustained trauma to your knees ?

The feeling of straightening of your knee and inability of keep your knee straight could point disorders like Electrolyte imbalance, lack of performing work up exercises before strenuous activity.

If your knee is painful and there is frequent locking of the knee that could indicate meniscus cartilage tear which can cause similar picture of the knee not able to get straight.

Also Electrolyte imbalance, dehydration, calcium deficiency can cause similar symptoms.

I would advise to keep well hydrated with 6 to 8 glasses of water daily, East plenty of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables to avoid electrolyte imbalance. Exercise with cardio regime daily to keep fit.

You can take pain killer with muscle relaxant like Diclofenac 75mg with Thiocolchicoside muscle relaxant to help in the relief of spasm. Aisi apply hot water bag to the area of spasm to get relief.

Kindly consult your Orthopaedic surgeon to get a thorough examination and necessary investigations like Xray or MRI and laboratory tests to help diagnose any of the same.

I will be available for follow up queries.

I hope I have answered your query.

Thanking you.

Regards,

Dr. Aashish Raghu
