Question: My husband has swelling in both thighs, down to the knees. Bruising behind one knee. Played soccer 2 weeks ago, no acute injury but had muscular pain and stiffness afterward. Heat and ice alternated on muscles for a few days, and rest for that muscular pain. But now, it is 2 weeks later, that the thighs have swollen, and large bruise, appeared on the back of the knee, slightly off center.
He takes symbicort for asthma, allegra for allergies, both daily.

Brief Answer:
DVT needs to be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Swelling in both thighs with bruise with no history of a recent injury can be due to DVT or spontaneous bleeding. This needs a direct examination and investigations like color doppler of the legs to detect any clot. A few blood investigations are also needed.
Please do attend an ER or attend to your physician for proper investigations.
I hope this answers your query.
