Question: I fell at night 10 days ago crossing my legs somehow on the way down.I was unable to stand but dragged myself to the bed and got around with difficulty the next day.I took anti-inflammatories for the next week and gradually came good and now just have slight pain in left groin. Is this just a strain or worse? I am a 73 year old male in good health and fit.

Brief Answer:
Yes sir, this is a strain. May take some time to heal

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I am sorry to hear about your unfortunate fall. But it is good to know that you have surpassed the initial days after the injury which are the most difficult ones.

Yes sir, you are quite right. The pain in your groin region is most probably due to a pulled muscle or ligament that may take a little longer to completely heal or recover. During this period, you will have to rest the region as much as possible. As long as you can walk without any difficulty there is no serious injury.

But this is nothing to worry about, no cause for concern and some muscles and/or ligaments can take longer to heal than others. I wish you a safe and rapid recovery sir. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.

Best wishes.
