Question : I have been sick with what I believe is gastroenteritis since Dec 24. I started to feel a little better yesterday but today I feel very sick again. Had a little diarrhea again this morning and nausea. I'm really starting to worry that it may be something more serious.

Brief Answer:
Viral gastroenteritis may last up to two weeks.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM,

I understand your concern.

Viral gastroenetritis may last up to two weeks sometimes. If you are in contact with children or in areas where there is a spread infection, you may have gotten another infection meanwhile.

If you don't have fever, bloody diarrhea or mucus, you don't need to worry about. If the diarrhea lasts more then 2 weeks, or if you see one of the symptoms mentioned above, then consider doing a visit to the gastroenterologist and do further examinations.

Meanwhile drink plenty of fluids, avoid milk, have a diet with rice, banana, ect.

Hope this is helpful,
