Question: Hello, I have a friend that is a 22yo female, she has fluid on the brain and a small cyst. Her doctors advised that it is nothing to worry about. She continues to feel weak, nausea, dizziness and usually results in her fainting. Is there anything that can steer her in a right direction for medical answers. She has been referred to a ENT doctor and now going to a neurologist.

Brief Answer:
Needs neurological and neurosurgical opinions

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what your friend has experiencing lately.

Based on the history you have shared, these symptoms can't be ignored and should be evaluated by a neurologist in detail with detailed neurological examination as well as review of films of CT scan and if needed MRI. It may also need a neurosurgical opinion for any need of cyst removal.

Meanhwile driving and other activities like walking near water sources or fire should be avoided. Supportive management for nausea and other symptoms should be started. If any fainting episode occurs she should be taken to nearby ER or medical facility. If needed EEG can be performed during such spells.

Meanwhile rest of the blood workup for other metabolic or endocrine causes of fainting and dizziness should be ruled out. Good balanced diet alongwith supplements for B12, D3 and folic acid may be helpful. As neurologist visit gas already been planned so keep fingers crossed till then and continue supportive management according to onset of symptoms or events.

Wishing her quick recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
