Question : My son is 15- last week did not feel well with nausea and low fever- felt better after rest a couple days but has not been able to eat much since. He can not eat at all in the morning or most of the day- he's not interested and gags. However he does in the evening. We've checked for emotional issues but he really seems OK. What could be going on?
Brief Answer:
Is he looking poorly fed?
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Am so sorry to hear about what your son is experiencing. If he has changed how he looks of which you suspect this is linked to feeding, then that is a real concern. But if he looks just as healthy as before, then there is no reason to get worried. This is because changes in eating habits are common especially during adolescence and do not constitute any problems unless health is affected.
My word, monitor more for now. If this affects his nutritional status, then he would need evaluation and management. If it doesn’t, then we can be calm.
I hope this helps. I wish you both well. Have a great day!
