Brief Answer:
Wide spread disease with not so good prognosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

I have read your query and understand your concern.

I have gone through your uploaded MDCT scans of your father.

This is a case of gallbladder carcinoma. This has extremely poor prognosis overall.

Also there exists no preventive modality for this type of cancer.

The disease in this case is spread widely to various important zones of the abdomen.

Chemotherapy will be of little help as well,as symptoms frequently recur in spite of treatment.

There is no specific way to improve the prognosis in presence of widespread metastastis.

The definitive management is only surgery ,that too in an early stage.

The outcome of the surgery is largely based on the pathological grade and stage of the disease.

I can provide further relevant info,if you can give few details pertaining to the grade and stage of the disease by going through your reports again.

Thank you.

is surgery possible?
In the report the stage was mentioned as-M1.
The scan reports i provided previously were the latest scan reports i.e. one month ago.

Brief Answer:
Surgery can be done selectively.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

Yes surgery can be done in selective cases where M1 status is present. It indicates significant spread of tumor to other regions of abdomen.

Surgery coupled with chemoradiation can be producing palliative results but not curative.

Efficient procedures can prolong the survival of the patient considerably.

Thnk you.
